On Wednesday 14 April our residents at The Old Downs Residential Care Home arrived in Spain on our virtual Cruise.
We started the day with Spanish Café music, reminiscing over our holidays to Spain from the past and then our ladies and gents loved watching ‘Steptoe and son‘.
For lunch our Chef had prepared a choice of delicious paella or baked salmon, with tomato salsa and ‘patatas bravas‘ (spicy potatoes), followed by a dessert of Spanish lemon tart. A treat for the tastebuds!
In the afternoon our residents thoroughly enjoyed drinking sangria and red wine, and sampling tapas – we had a lovely selection of Spanish salamis, cheese, chorizo, olives, crackers and pate.
Everyone loved celebrating Spanish culture.
