Burns Night

Our residents at The Old Downs Residential Care Home celebrated Burns Night together on Monday 25 January.

We organised a variety of different Burns Night themed colouring pictures, enjoyed some Robert Burns poems and rounded it off nicely with traditional haggis, neeps and tatties, which went down a treat!

Australia Day

And we continued the celebrations on to Tuesday when we marked Australia Day in our Home.

Our residents helped us put up decorations in the morning, including Australian flag bunting, balloons and inflatable kangaroos, which got us all in the spirit of ‘down under’.

Later, we enjoyed Australian arts and crafts and a glass of traditional Australian root beer.

Our residents looked at home in their Australian cork hats and we all thoroughly enjoyed the spirit of the day.
