Last Tuesday evening, our residents at The Old Downs Residential Care Home were delighted to welcome our local Cubs group for their annual Christmas carol concert – a much-loved festive tradition at our Home. The children had clearly been practising hard and were full of excitement as they arrived.
After a warm welcome and a lovely chat with our residents, the Cubs began their carol service, performing classic Christmas favourites including Silent Night, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and The Twelve Days of Christmas. Their beautiful singing filled our lounge with festive spirit and many of our residents were deeply moved – a few happy tears were even shed!
To show our appreciation, our residents presented the Cubs with tubs of chocolates as a thank-you for their wonderful performance. The children were thrilled – and of course, couldn’t resist tucking into a few treats before heading home!
It was a wonderful evening that perfectly captured the spirit of Christmas. A big thank you to the Cubs and their dedicated leaders for bringing so much happiness to our Home.
