On Sunday 21 February our residents at The Old Downs Residential Care Home joined in to celebrate ‘International Mother Language Day’, which is observed every year to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism around the world.
We enjoyed learning to say ‘hello‘ in different languages and had great fun together looking at different world flags.
Our lovely resident Margaret has also been treating us to her piano playing recently. Last week she performed Gavotte from the Fifth French Suite; she thoroughly enjoyed it and it was a delight to hear her music in our Home. Such a talent!
