We’ve been up to something exciting at The Old Downs Residential Care Home recently – creating a special new space just for reading. We have a lot of book worms here at our Home, so we wanted to create a cosy corner for them. Our new reading nook now boasts bookcases filled with a wide variety of titles, plus comfy chairs, soft blankets, and warming floor lamps.
From autobiographies and military history to light-hearted novels and magazines, we now have it all in our library and reading corner!
Our residents have been delighted with the space, immersing themselves in quiet moments of reading at different times of the day – whether starting the morning with a few chapters, spending a peaceful afternoon enjoying a story, or winding down with 20 minutes before bed. Whenever the mood takes them, our lovely new reading nook is ready to welcome them.
