Burns Night
We celebrated Burns Night here at The Old Downs Residential Care Home on Tuesday 25 January.
We started the day with arts and crafts when our residents enjoyed colouring and making Scottish bunting.
Our residents enjoyed Robert Burns poems and listening to some wonderful Scottish music.
For lunch we served haggis with ‘neeps and tatties’, followed by traditional shortbread biscuits, tea cakes and Irn-Bru.
Australia Day
On Wednesday 26 January we came together to celebrate Australia Day and our residents helped to decorate our Home with Australian bunting and balloons.
Later on, we enjoyed some Australian arts and crafts and traditional Australian Lamington cake, which went down very well!
