As summer draws to a close, our residents at The Old Downs Residential Care Home came together for our much-anticipated annual summer party. Although the good old British weather had other ideas and our plans for a garden BBQ were rained off, we didn’t let it spoil the fun. Instead, we transformed our dining room into a vibrant Hawaiian paradise, complete with jellyfish lanterns, floral garlands, inflatables, coconut cups, bunting, and plenty of colour.
Our talented Catering Team prepared a delicious feast, and our residents enjoyed refreshing drinks from our special Tikki bar. Entertainment was provided by the wonderful duo act PJ and Rose, who soon had everyone singing, clapping, and dancing along to cheerful summer tunes.
To round off the day, we held our much-awaited summer raffle, which raised an amazing £100 for our residents’ fund. Lucky winners Shauna, Sophie, and Jean were thrilled to receive beautiful hampers filled with treats including chocolates, wine, gin, hand cream, and flower garlands of course!
It was a brilliant day filled with fun – proof that even the rain can’t dampen our spirits and we can always make the best of every situation. Definitely one to remember!
