Residents and staff at The Old Downs Residential Care Home hosted a coffee morning last week, to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Staff and friends brought in a chocolatey array of goodies for the event, which were delicious and very much enjoyed by all!
Macmillan’s first ever Coffee Morning was held in 1990. It was a small affair with a simple idea; guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective, the charity spread the word nationally in the year that followed. Since then, Coffee Morning has raised over £200 million for Macmillan.
