Last week, something very exciting happened here at The Old Downs Residential Care Home – we opened our very own pop-up shop in our salon! The shop was beautifully set up with a wonderful selection of jewellery, bags, scarves, photos, toiletries, and more. Many of the items had been kindly donated, while others were lovingly handmade by our talented residents. To make the space even more special, the walls were decorated with photographs and artwork created by our residents, giving it a truly personal touch.
Once the shop was ready, our residents had a fantastic time browsing, trying on jewellery, scarves, and bags, and carefully choosing which items they wanted. It was such a joy to see the excitement as they treated themselves, all without having to leave the comfort of our Home.
The pop-up shop is a wonderful idea for our residents, especially for those who can no longer get out to the shops. By bringing the shopping experience to them, we’ve created something fun, sociable, and rewarding. Our salon was the perfect setting too, as it’s already so warm and inviting.
Our first day couldn’t have gone better and we can’t wait to expand!
