On Wednesday 9 June we cruised off to France at The Old Downs Residential Care Home from the luxury of our armchairs, and our residents had a lovely day celebrating.
We decorated our Home with French flag bunting, balloons and decorative strings of garlic to get us all in the mood. We also had a variety of different cheeses and crackers on offer including; garlic and herb soft cheese, cheddar, smoked cheddar, brie and camembert, which everyone tucked into with gusto!
Our ladies and gents loved listening to ‘Paris de cafe‘ and sharing their stories about their holidays to France from the past.
During the day our residents also enjoyed a coffee morning in our large front garden, where they took in the fresh air while sipping a nice cup of English breakfast tea. They had a choice of biscuits and thoroughly enjoyed listening to their favourite music.
