Last week on Wednesday 25 January some of our residents and staff at The Old Downs Residential Care Home joined in to celebrate Burns Night. To mark the occasion, we organised a special party.
Burns Night
Our residents enjoyed traditional haggis, neeps and tatties for lunch. Later in the afternoon we had ‘Mandy and Me’ – a live band – and thoroughly enjoyed singing and dancing to old time favourites.
Australia Day
On Thursday 26 January some of our residents joined in to celebrate Australia Day. We started the day off by decorating our conservatory with Australian bunting, balloons and kangaroos. Our residents joined in for an Australia quiz and enjoyed arts and crafts while socialising over a cup of tea.
