On Friday 12 February our residents and staff at The Old Downs Residential Care Home celebrated Chinese New Year – the year of the Ox.
In preparation for our virtual cruise, our residents helped to make their own passports and joined in for arts and crafts when we made lanterns, greeting cards in Chinese and painted our canvas, all ready for our Chinese New Year celebrations.
On Friday we enjoyed a themed lunch, which included;
- Prawn crackers and chilli sauce
- Sweet and sour chicken
- Chow mein noodles
- Stir fry
- Pineapple upside-down cake
Our ladies and gents loved opening their fortune cookies and reading their fortunes, and in the afternoon we enjoyed watching the film ‘Mulan‘.
A super day enjoyed by everyone.
