Our residents at The Old Downs Residential Care Home were delighted last week when they enjoyed cuddles with a very special new visitor – Charlie the cat! Our Recreation and Well-being Coordinator, Libby, cares for a number of cats, and this time she decided to bring along Charlie to meet everyone.
Our residents were instantly smitten with his gentle and calm nature. Charlie happily sat soaking up all the attention, as he lapped up cuddles, pats, and even a few kisses. The visit brought back many fond memories for our residents, reminding them of beloved pets they have cared for over the years.
One of our residents, Daphne, is especially fond of cats and often carries her own soft toy cat with her. She had asked for us to bring in a real cat for a visit, so of course we made it happen – she was overjoyed to spend quality time with Charlie.
It was a heartwarming afternoon of Pet Therapy that lifted everyone’s spirits. Charlie is welcome back to our Home any time!
