Around the World with Nellsar Cruises
The ‘Around the World’ virtual cruise has been a big hit with our residents here at The Old Downs Residential Care Home; we’ve finally landed back in England after six months of sailing, and what a journey it’s been!
The fun armchair adventure saw us ‘stop’ in Hong Kong, India, Spain, Italy France and the Caribbean. Throughout our voyage, we’ve tried foods we had never heard of and charmed an 8ft snake! Our ‘return’ to England on Wednesday 11 August marked the culmination of the cruise and we disembarked in style!
We hosted a wonderful “Welcome Home” BBQ for our residents. We had cheeseburgers, hot dogs, potato salad and coleslaw which went down a treat with a refreshing lemonade. The residents loved being together and throughly enjoyed our live entertainment. They were upset the cruise is over but we can’t wait for our future adventures!
